Photographing History by Bill Lebovich: Duke Ellington Bridge

 

The Duke Ellington Bridge carries Calvert Street over Rock Creek Park.  Frederick Law Olmsted redesigned the Park.  Paul Philippe Cret, Dean of Architecture at U. of P. and architect of National Naval Medical Center, Federal Reserve Building, and Shakespeare Library, designed the bridge, which was built in 1935.Image
