African-American cemetery (Mt. Zion), Georgetown, Washington,D.C.

Simple, broken headstone  of 1856, only listing the woman’s first name, with modern children’s toys and birthday card placed in front of it.  She died 8 days short of her 38th birthday.

When Georgetown was 1/3 African-American: sign for Herring Hill,church, cemetery, graves including tomb on underground railroad and for veteran of Mass. Colored Regiment.
